anyways, if ur gonna be saying something along the lines of “so marvel will make steve rogers a nazi before they make him queer”, heres a better idea: don’t.

^thank you for saying this. to elaborate a little if that’s ok: as a ~queer~ Jewish person u aren’t doing me a favor by using the very antisemitic thing marvel has done as a rhetorical device to bring up representation

u can talk abt wanting Steve not to be straight without turning a very big act of antisemitism into your clever wording device. the main problem with making Steve part of Hydra isn’t that they did it before they “made him queer” and oh gosh isn’t that ridiculous. it has nothing to do with that. they’re separate issues and using one as a rhetorical device to make a point about the other distracts from its importance. the main problem here is that he was originally created by Jewish writers as a symbol /against/ nazism and taking that and rewriting it as “he was a nazi all along” is spitting in the face of those Jewish creators. it’s antisemitic bullshit, please don’t detract from and derail that by using it as a comparison tool to highlight another unrelated issue .

as a Jewish bi lady who would also love to see Steve be not straight, I’m telling you this isn’t the way to make that point.
